About our valuation:

This service is offered to you as a convenient way to dispose of your car. Experienced car buyers, using the latest market data will give you a fair part exchange quote, based on the current trade auction price less auction costs and transport. We don’t make money with our part-exchange service and don’t plan to. If you feel the quote undervalues your car, please don’t be offended. Cars have been losing value quickly in 2008 and our quotes take this depreciation into account.

It’s quite possible that you could get more money from your car selling it privately, although this can be time-consuming and risky. You can also try dedicated online services that will offer you a free valuation.

Please note that you can probably find a car dealer that will offer you a higher part exchange valuation than Autoquake.com. Car dealers typically have thousands of pounds of margin in the new car they are selling you and are happy to “over allow” on the value of your part exchange as they will still make a lot of money from selling you the car. It is important to focus on the cost of changing car which is the cost of the new car minus the amount you receive for your part exchange.
